A review of Napoleon Hills “Keys to Success: The 17 Principles of Personal Achievement”.
This is # 4.
4) “Use Applied Faith” Applied Faith requires ACTION. Formulate your plan and ACT on it. Napoleon Hill states “Action is the first requirement of all faith” (he uses a little different meaning of faith than I learned in church). Take your “Definiteness of Purpose” from part 1 and divide it up into smaller bites. When do I expect to have this completed? OK I have ____ months. Divide that by the # of weeks and you will know what you have to accomplish each week. Divide the results by 7 (or 5 if you are taking the weekends off) and you will know how much you have to do each day. Keep a record of the progress and write it down. Reward yourself for small accomplishments and work harder to catch up if you get behind. All plans need adjustments along the way and that’s fine. If your plan is too ambitious (I will lose 7 pounds a week), reevaluate and modify the plan and go again. If you are able to accomplish your daily or weekly goals with ease – adjust your goal upward to challenge yourself.
I will follow with the next principle in a day or so. I hope that you enjoy this and benefit from it.
Remember: It shouldn’t hurt to walk.
